Q. How Soon Must You Respond to an Invitation?
A. Your most important obligation as a guest is to respond to an invitation immediately. Your hosts will be delighted that you took the time to reply promptly, rather than procrastinating until the RSVP by date. This is all the more important if you won’t be attending, as your hosts need time to gain an accurate guest count for numerous wedding day elements and have no choice but to assume all guests will attend that they haven’t heard from to the contrary. There is usually a response card included with the invitation. If not, you may write a formal note indicating your intention.
