Q. How do I keep my feet from killing me?
A. Your first thought when planning your vow renewal attire probably wasn’t comfortable shoes, but they will make the difference between a night of aching feet and being ready to dance the night away.

Keep in mind that you will likely be standing for long periods of time, and pain should be the last thing on your mind as you renew your vows. While style is important, don’t pick it over a good fit. Remember, while a pair of shoes may feel comfortable when you try them on in the store, what matters is how they feel after you’ve worn them for many hours. Make sure they are the right width, have supportive cushioning, well-placed straps, and as low of a heel as works with your dress.

Make sure you do a couple of wear tests before the big day! Wear them around the house for a few hours each day. Make a note of any areas that are prone to blisters and pack cushions or Band-Aids in your emergency kit. If possible, add extra padding with insoles made specifically for high-heels and open-toed shoes.

If they always leave you dying to take them off, find a different pair!
