Q. Do I have to invite entire families or can I just invite adults?

A. It is perfectly appropriate to only the adult members of a family. When only inviting the adults, the invitation should only have their names on it; do not include children’s names.  Beware that many people may be unfamiliar with invitation etiquette, so you may be faced with the need to correct the situation when they RSVP with a count that includes their children. There are a couple ways to handle this, you can include RSVP cards with the number of adults invited already completed in the RSVP or you can include a note that the event is for adults only..
